Spider Vein & Varicose Vein Treatment

Dr. Arturo, as his patients call him, has successfully performed hundreds of cosmetic procedures including treatment for spider veins and varicose veins. Both types of defunct veins are caused by valve problems within the vein and the most common treatment for each is sclerotherapy unless spider veins appear on the face, near the nose. Usually laser therapy will be employed in that particular case.
Sclerotherapy is a simple procedure and can be done in a doctor's office as opposed to a hospital. A solution is injected into the diseased vein, swelling the walls to completely cut off blood flow. The tiny vein turns into scar tissue and disappears or drastically fades away, however, sometimes the vein may need more than one treatment.
In cases where laser surgery is used, typically for veins less than 3mm, the treatment will usually last about 20 minutes and 2 to 5 treatments may be required to fade the appearance of the vein. The patient will experience a slight burning as the focused light penetrates the skin. Like sclerotherapy, there is no recovery time needed.
