Dr. Arturo performs brow lift surgery, also referred to as coronal lift. The purpose of the procedure is to tighten the skin of the forehead to reform droopy eyebrows, eliminate skin wrinkles on the face and have a smoother, more youthful forehead.
A brow lift is accomplished by placing incisions near or within the hairline to remove excess skin while concealing scars. Based on the surgeon's judgement of endoscopic examination, excess tissue and muscle may need to be removed as well to tighten the forehead.
This procedure typically takes 2 or 3 hours and the patient will spend the night in the hospital for monitoring. Recovery time is usually about 2 to 3 weeks.
A brow lift at times accompanies by other facial cosmetic procedures such as eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), nose reshaping (rhinoplasty), a face lift and other surgical procedures.
