Breast Reconstruction Surgery
Plastikka performs breast reconstruction surgery typically after a mastectomy (removal of the breast) due to cancer. There are too many variables to discuss all of them here, but a consultation with Dr. Arturo before or after the mastectomy will give the answers you're looking for.
Typically, the breast reconstruction surgery is done in one or two stages either immediately following the mastectomy or delaying the surgery, for example, if radiation treatment is necessary after the mastectomy or lumpectomy.
Dr. Arturo would need to harvest enough tissue from other parts of the body to build a breast. The new breast will not be perfect but you'll feel comfortable in a bra or swimsuit. After time the breast will become more sensitive yet will not feel the exact same as before the mastectomy.
Sometimes a breast lift or reshaping is recommended on the unaffected breast to match it to the new breast. All options are discussed in detail in the consultation.
